A standard guided trip is a half day. Full day trips are available upon request and will include lunch from the Riverton General Store (sandwich, drink and chips). Flies will be provided for all trips.

Types of trips offered

Each trip can be specially formulated to what you need. A standard trip is four hours. Those four hours can include whatever you would like, from casting practice to learning about the bugs and flies to just fishing in some interesting areas.

Specialty Trips

Do a guided trip with a Bamboo Rod setup. Experience trout fishing in a whole new way. Don't have a bamboo? Not a problem. We will include an American made bamboo rod setup for you to enjoy for the trip.

Get off the Farmington and hunt for the elusive Brook Trout. Take a trip to some of the small creeks in the area and see what fun it is to catch naturalized trout.

My thoughts on guiding

I believe that a guided trip is not all about catching a fish. It is about an experience - an adventure on the river that you would not have had on your own.

I have fished the Farmington River since I was 10 years old. I have studied the fish, the spots where they hide and the bugs that they eat. My goal with a guided trip is to condense as much of my 22 years of fishing the Farmington into an afternoon of experience for you.

You can expect to see areas of the river that are less traveled but no less productive (and sometimes more!). I will be happy to tailor the trip to your needs so that you take what you want from the time spent with me.
